Invitations for Autumn Get Togethers

While the weather outside might still be pleasant enough now to enjoy outdoor activities, it won’t be long before the sun will be setting early and you’ll be eager to huddle inside where it’s warm. The good news is that’s the perfect time to throw a few get togethers for your friends and families. Here are some ideas.

Game Night

diceFriendly competition is always fun so invite a few friends over and play games. You can have everyone bring a different board game (i. e. Trivial Pursuit, Pictionary, Scrabble, etc.) or you can invest in a multimedia, interactive game such as Scene It. If you have friends who enjoy video games, that’s an option, too. Games like Mario Party (available for the Wii and the Gamecube) and Fuzion Frenzy (available for the Xbox and Xbox 360) are great choices.

You don’t need to spend a lot on invitations, but consider something fun such as the Outline Dots Lime Invitations. If you want to play poker or blackjack instead of other kinds of games, then consider Super Poker Invitations. Make sure you have plenty of snacks and drinks available for your guests. You can buy meat and cheese trays from your local deli or vegetable trays or you can serve tasty appetizers such as Buffalo wings, egg rolls, or nachos.

Movie Night

Another great way to spend an autumn evening is hosting a movie night. You’ll probably want to choose a Friday or Saturday evening for your event so your guests can stay out later without having to worry about work or school the following morning. You can choose to watch 2 or 3 new movies or you can pick a certain theme and watch movies around that theme. For example, if your theme was teen comedies, you could watch Clueless, 10 Things I Hate About You, and Bring It On. With Halloween coming up in a few weeks, horror movies would make a great theme, too.

To invite people over, choose movie-themed invitations such as the New Hollywood Invitations or Popcorn and Movies Invitations. Remember to have plenty of movie snacks on hand, including popcorn, boxes of candy, and soda.

The nice thing about both of the events above is that you don’t need a lot of decorations. You do need to make sure you have plenty of comfortable seating for your guests and enough refreshments. And just like with any party make sure you give your guests plenty of time to RSVP so you’ll know who to expect and can plan accordingly.
